Meet Dan

A proud Westsider, accomplished small-business owner, and proven public servant, Dan brings a strong track record of leadership and results to Albuquerque’s City Council. Known for turning good organizations into great ones, Dan applies that same vision and tenacity to championing the West Side. From infrastructure improvements to economic development, Dan is focused on delivering real progress for our community.

Explore Dan’s background and see how he’s making a difference—project by project, issue by issue.

“I didn’t run for office to sit on the sidelines—I rolled up my sleeves and got to work for Albuquerque. I first ran for City Council because I couldn’t watch our city struggle without real leadership and real solutions. That commitment hasn’t changed. I’m still fighting every day to bring common-sense, steady, and results-driven leadership to City Hall. Thank you for standing with me as we keep pushing for safe neighborhoods, strong West Side families, and a community that thrives.”

Dan's Top Priorities

Safe Westside Neighborhoods

Dan is committed to keeping our neighborhoods secure. He works hand-in-hand with the Northwest Area Police Command to ensure fast response times and proactive policing. From launching new neighborhood watch programs to coordinating with every City Hall department, Dan is focused on keeping our streets, homes, and businesses clean, protected, and safe.

Efficient and
Connected Roadways

While others have talked about improving West Side roads, Dan has delivered. He led the charge on major projects like Unser Blvd, Universe, McMahon, Paseo del Norte, and Golf Course Rd. Most recently, he secured the final funding for the $65 million widening of Paseo and Unser—construction begins this summer. He also played a key role in the Paseo/I-25 interchange, unlocking better mobility for thousands of commuters.

Building a Stronger Community

Dan is focused on building more than just roads—he’s building community. He secured funding and land for the West Side’s first multigenerational center, currently under construction, which will include a new library and pool. Dan’s long-term vision is to create the best parks and outdoor spaces in the city, including the $21 million West Side Baseball & Softball Complex and the $16 million Ken Sanchez Basketball & Volleyball Complex.

Creating Jobs and
Growing Opportunity

Dan champions small business owners and cuts red tape to make it easier for them to thrive. He’s also focused on big wins—like securing Mesa Studios, projected to create thousands of local jobs. From bringing in new grocery stores and retail options to attracting businesses that offer essential services, Dan is working to grow a thriving West Side economy.
